Wasatch Elementary is excited to celebrate a well-deserved honor for our music teacher, Mrs. Waite, who was recently recognized by the district for her outstanding contributions to our Wasatch Eagles.
Mrs. Waite's impact reaches far beyond the music room. Through her dedication and love for teaching, she helps students build confidence, creativity, and a genuine appreciation for music. Her lessons are engaging, meaningful, and connected to the learning happening throughout our school.
Mrs. Waite is also an important part of our school's involvement in the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program (BTSALP). This program brings arts specialists into schools to support literacy development while also helping students learn grade-level standards through meaningful arts integration. Students strengthen reading, communication, critical thinking, and other academic skills while engaging in music and the arts.
We are especially fortunate to have the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program at Wasatch Elementary. The program is highly sought after, and many schools across Utah are currently on a waitlist to participate. Having access to these opportunities is a tremendous benefit for our students and staff, and Mrs. Waite plays a key role in making that experience meaningful for our school community.
What makes Mrs. Waite even more remarkable is her willingness to go above and beyond for students. In addition to teaching music, she dedicates extra time to organizing and leading an after-school choir, giving students another opportunity to develop their talents, work together, and experience the joy of performing.
We are incredibly lucky to have both Mrs. Waite and the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program at Wasatch Elementary. The impact of her work can be seen throughout our school, from the confidence students gain through music to the skills they develop that support learning in every classroom.
Congratulations, Mrs. Waite, on this well-deserved recognition! Thank you for all you do to help our Wasatch Eagles learn, grow, and soar.
