Fourth grade students from Wasatch Elementary pose for a group photo on the grand front steps of the Utah State Capitol. The large stone building with tall columns rises behind the students, who are gathered in the center of the staircase. Black handrails divide the wide steps, and bright sunlight highlights the Capitol's historic architecture. A Wasatch Eagles logo appears in the bottom-right corner of the image.

Our 4th grade Eagles recently enjoyed an unforgettable visit to Utah's State Capitol, where learning came to life beyond the classroom walls. Throughout the day, students participated in a fun and engaging scavenger hunt that encouraged them to explore the Capitol and discover the stories, symbols, and history found throughout the building.

Students were fascinated to learn how the Capitol was designed to withstand earthquakes through an advanced base isolation system that helps protect the historic structure during seismic activity. They also visited the beautiful Gold Room, where distinguished guests and visitors from around the world meet with Utah government leaders.

As they toured the Capitol, students gained a deeper understanding of Utah's government, history, and civic responsibilities. They asked thoughtful questions, explored historical exhibits, and learned how state leaders work together to serve Utah's communities.

The field trip was a wonderful opportunity for students to connect their classroom learning to the real world. We are proud of our Eagles for representing Wasatch Elementary with curiosity, respect, and enthusiasm throughout the day. Way to soar, Eagles!
