Third Grade Teachers

At Wasatch Elementary, the third-grade team is ready to welcome students into a year full of discovery, growth, and excitement. Led by the talented trio of Ms. Godfrey, Ms. Chilton, and Ms. Hill, third grade promises to be a time when curiosity is sparked and confidence takes root. Students will dive into timeless stories like The Wind in the Willows, explore the fascinating world of animal classification, and learn how the human body works through its systems and senses. They'll journey back in time to study the ancient Roman civilization and the Viking Age, and they'll explore the vastness of space in a unit on astronomy. From Native American cultures and early North American explorers to the foundations of Colonial America, history will come alive in meaningful ways.

In science, students will investigate weather patterns, life cycles, and the forces that affect motion. They'll learn how traits help organisms survive and how environmental changes impact ecosystems. Through hands-on experiments and thoughtful inquiry, they'll develop the skills of real scientists—asking questions, analyzing data, and designing solutions. In math, third graders will build a strong foundation in multiplication and division, develop an understanding of fractions, and solve real-world problems involving measurement and geometry. They'll also sharpen their reasoning and problem-solving skills through engaging mathematical practices. In English Language Arts, students will strengthen their reading fluency and comprehension, explore a variety of texts, and learn to write with clarity and purpose. They'll also build vocabulary, analyze characters and themes, and express their ideas through speaking and listening activities.

With such a rich and well-rounded curriculum, third graders at Wasatch Elementary are in for an incredible year. Whether they’re learning about multiplication, building reading fluency, or writing their own narratives, they’ll be guided by teachers who care deeply about their growth. Ms. Godfrey, Ms. Chilton, and Ms. Hill each bring something special to the classroom, and any third grader would be lucky to have one of them leading the way.
